Computer Locking Up

It doesn't matter what firewall I use, when it comes time for it to cause a pop-up in order for me to accept the action or not, my computer freezes up and I end up having to reboot.

I currently have Drive Sentry as my AV and Online Armor as my FW.

I have used about half-dozen FW over the past 2 weeks trying to figure out what's going on. They all do the same thing. If I disable the FW, I have no issues.

To unfreeze my computer, I do the ctrl+alt+del and sometimes that works. But most of the times it just locks up totally.

I am at my wits end. This is ridiculous. Can anyone help?

Windows XP Home w/SP3
eMachine 2958
Intel Celeron 2.66ghz
504 meg ram
Device Manager shows no conflicts or problems

I have been having trouble with my computer for a while and couldnt figure the problem. It started with screen locking up and random reboot. The constant reboot.
Seems like a build up of dirt coupled with an exhaust fan locked up was putting a strain on PSU. Solution a good cleaning with air and a new exhaust fan.
